#031: "Go all the way with it. Do not back off. For once, go all the Goddamn way with what matters." -Ernest Hemingway

In today’s episode, I start by sharing a powerful quote from Hemingway: "Go all the way with it. Do not back off. For once, go all the goddamn way with what matters." This quote sets the tone for today’s message about commitment to your goals, passion, and living without hesitation.

The Epidemic of Settling

  • Society has normalized settling for “good enough” and living comfortably within the status quo.

  • Many settle for jobs they dislike, or routines that don’t fulfill their true passions, instead of chasing after their dreams.

  • I believe most people never tap into their real potential because fear or complacency hold them back.

Why We Must Go All In

  • For me, it’s about making a pact with myself—commit to my goals, no matter how scary or difficult it might be.

  • I’ve vowed to become a successful, impactful writer who helps others and makes a difference.

  • My goal only grows as I keep pushing, never stopping or settling for less.

The Power of Daily Action

  • I emphasize the importance of showing up every day—writing, reading, studying—to move closer to your dreams.

  • No success is instant. It’s consistent effort, even on days you feel like giving up.

  • I remind myself and others that progress ebbs and flows, but persistence is what builds a life of purpose.

Living with Purpose and Courage

  • I reflect on Marcus Aurelius and the Stoic idea that we owe it to ourselves to do what we were made to do—no matter how tired or scared we are.

  • I challenge listeners: do you want to spend your one life in comfort or in pursuit of your passions?

  • I share my commitment to never be the “woe is me” person. Instead, I’ll always get up, keep moving forward, and seek solutions.

The Big Questions and Final Takeways

  • I ask: are you just existing, or are you actively pursuing your dreams?

  • Get up, go after what matters, and become the master of your craft.

  • Believe in yourself—don’t let anyone tell you you can’t.

  • Take the steps today towards your goals.

  • Remember, one life—make it count.
